After much debate as to where to take this vacation, we decided on New Orleans. The weather fit the bill. We had thrown around going to Colorado, but I only wanted watch it snow from a hot tub while drinking hot chocolate, with lots of marshmallows. So New Orleans it is!!
When in New Orleans, you walk. A lot. And you eat. A lot. I did take pictures of some food, and it's on Instagram...anniebluesky. If you are in the mood to see some good food.
The afternoon turned into early evening. And this turned out to be my most favorite time from the trip. (Even though mornings in New Orleans are simply fantastic!) There was a fog rolling in off the Mississippi River. People strolling. Runners. Dogs. A musician playing the bagpipe. It was eerily beautiful.
Another birthday celebration. Second line...
The next morning was breakfast at the Ruby Slipper. Great place!
Then off walking again. We actually took a wonderful walking tour of the French Quarter.
Just some faces on the streets of New Orleans...
We went into St. Louis Cathedral...quiet and beautiful.
Coop's...my most favorite place in the entire world to get Crawfish Etoufee!! And a kick ass Mint Julep.
No visit to New Orleans is complete without a stroll through the French Market. Lots of interesting people to see.
This was a group of, well, I'm not quite sure. But, interesting!!
