There was a new phenomenon in the Big Easy. It was the Hop On, Hop Off bus! And what a blessed thing for my aching leg! For some reason, it was giving me fits that weekend. I blame it on poor supporting shoes on the first day, which has lead to shoe shopping after I got home. I am now in possession of a new pair of work shoes, and awaiting a new pair of everyday shoes from Amazon. Every black cloud has a silver lining.
But I digress. Back to the bus. The tour was great. Learned things that I never knew about New Orleans. If we ever go back for longer, we will definitely get the week rates! And I highly recommend it to my friends. Are you listening, D.J?
Waiting for the bus at the stop behind the French Market.
So, this is the beginning of bus shots...caught from the top of the double decker as we passed by. A little tricky getting shots from the top of a moving bus, so excuse the blurs.
This was taken from the bus as it circled it's hub. Where we got off for a bit, walked through the station and the cemetery before getting on again.
At the entrance to the station. A memorial to the victims of Katrina.
Then, much to my glee, inside was miniature replicas of New Orleans!!!
